Default Towing

Hey all,

I'm just wondering if any of you have towed in your fiesta? I'm thinking about getting a jetski and its about 400kg.. the car is rated at up to 900kg. im just wondering if anyone has had experience with this. I drive a manual.

Cheers.

Theoretically you could tow a 400kg load, however you will feel the weight big time.

The only thing I would be worried about with a light front wheel drive is pulling the ski out of the water and up the ramp. Steep ramps will not be fun especially if they are wet.

I fitted a towbar before our move from Victoria to Queensland last year. I had two adults and two kids in the 5 door zetec, a bootload fuul of stuff and towed a 7x4 trailer all the way. In the trailer was a cage with a labrador and a heap of stuff, like bikes, clothes, and other stuff. I estimated the load at around 450kg. The big thing was getting the balance right so the Fiesta didn't look like it was doing a mono the whole way...about 45kg ball weight I think from memory. It towed no problem, harldly even noticed it, although the fuel usage increased by a couple of litres per hundred.
In other words, you'll have no problems!!
Cheers, Jay
