I get around 500-600km per tank ... metro/outer metro.
That's from about 85L of LPG in the ute ... auto as well.
Highway .. I get from 750-800km from a tank.
Well 2 tanks technically in the EGAS utes.

i reckon a thread like this must pop up every couple of months.
but i'm bored

so which is it 398 or 498?
398 sounds about right for giving it a flogging around town and 498 for being a bit gentler.

Big difference between 398 and 498, so which is it? Either is normal, depending on weight of right boot. We get around 450kms around town (highway/city mix in Canberra), but the car is pig rich, so need to do something about an edit to fix that. Last time we went away, we averaged around 680km out of a tank (ie just under 10l/100km), that was between Canberra and Qld going the Pacific Highway, fully loaded and including a Pod box on the roof racks - I was/am impressed by that.

Oh my favourite thread,Well I was getting In the AU SR wags about 770 to 64ltrs,but since the extra hole in the air box and track pipe she has been drinking more ,more like high 600s to the tank so ,although the throttle response is great,it not what I wanted this car for.

But when I read REBEL getting 490ks to a tank (city cycle so I should flog that figure as Im expressway only),that makes me dream about a full xr8 III 220kw driveline conversion for the wagon .

oh and The AU shits all over the our ghia 5.4ltr for fuel economy any where too.

Given the car you drive, and the thread/section you've posted in, while you're doing well getting that distance from a tank, where's the relevance?

AU2 XL...

Last week I got 11.5L/100 - 8.6km/ltr - 580km

This week 11.3L/100 - 8.8km/ltr - 200km

Using ULP - Standard I6 Auto

My 30km trip to work I stop at generally 2 sets of traffic lights and the rest is all 100/80 roads - So I would assume this would count as 80-90% highway driving (I did one or two local trips too)

I'm thinking the fuel economy should be better than that... I'm wondering if I should check out the Oxy sensor I really think with all this highway driving I should be able to manage 10km/ltr at worst????

The VY commodore I used to have would have managed this kind of economy ie 10km/ltr with the driving I'm currently doing... I thought the AU was supposed to be better on fuel? (Or should I be comparing that to the VT/VX?)

i dont get less than 500kms.....i never let it run dry though...i usually get 450-500 with about 100kms on DTE on 91 shell fuel.... maybe once every 10 refills i use 95 or 98

best ever was 750kms used with about 40 on DTE....only once though

i drive it hard occasionally but never rip the tyres up... only special occasions

mine is also a manual 6cyl NON XR

$68 to fill right up??? Thats not much! Petrol is currently $1.59 per litre 91 octane here in NZ, and it costs me close to a $100 to actually fill right up.
I rarely do it though...usually bang in $40 when I get to DTE 100km.

Easily get 500 kms plus average though, not bad for 255,000km,auto and suburban driving -I reckon. On the highway, they are surprisingly economical. The good ol I6 doesn't take much pedal to keep rolling once your at highway cruising speeds.

And the bad new for us Kiwis is that there is a new Govt petrol tax coming into force soon of at least 10c per litre for all our "new roading projects"- the same DAMN ones we are already paying for with the "roads" tax component within the price per litre of petrol now...double dipping as usual. :
