I need to put some new tyres on the XR4...
The rims are 17" x 7" The standards are 205/40's. The combination of the big rims and low profile means there is very little rubber between the rims and road, and even less between rims and kerb. I was think about going to 215/45's, but I'm worried about the clearances. Is there any way of finding out what the Scrub Radius is?

When I acquired my XR4 a bit over a year ago it had 215/45's on it.
It had trashed both guard liners. 205/40 fixed it. Scrub radius has nothing to do with it. |

ended up going for some Bridgestone 215/40s.
Seems to be plenty of clearance, and the little bit of extra meat is nice. Car seems to handle it ok. |
