So,
Being from SA we don't exactly get alot of motorsport over here, because of this I plan on heading over to the AFF Drags in June. I having never done any kind of drag racing before I was just wondering what tips you guys could offer in terms of preparing the car. BARING IN MIND the fact that I'm driving the XR8 to heathcote, and thus need to make it back lol.

do a full service on it, don't thrash the guts out of it on the drive to Heathcote. once u get there go over the car again. it's a fairly new car made to be driven on the street, you should be fine for the drive etc.

still bit jittery, would bringing another set of rear tyres be worth it, or run the streeters??
I wouldn't purchase semi slicks, they would just be my old 17's with some scrubs on them

just do a small burnout on the streeters, just to clean 'em up only a couple seconds. if u do too big a burnout u glaze 'em up and they have even worse traction. Last edited by prasac; 03-03-2011 at 03:38 PM. |

What are you doing for a helmet? I've been reading up on the subject and I'm just curious as to which way you've gone with it.
