I'd be a little concerned as to what freezing the circuitry in the keys on a daily basis could do.

More then likely rust out the inside. You would be better off putting it in a box lined with tin foil.

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines about a better alternative than the freezer. A box like that sounds like a good idea.

Interesting article. I should point out that it's only relevant to cars that have the proximity key you keep in your pocket and they unlock themselves. (and push a start button on the dash).

The car itself is a metal box - you could keep the key in there ;-)

you peeps might have to throw on an external steering lock or something for a bit more peace of mind ?

Just for reference. The Mondeo titanium key really need to be beside the car for the doors to unlock. Any more than a metre away and the door handles are useless.
I wont be hiding my keys in the freezer.

I think that is precisely the idea of the device they are using - it extends the range from a metre to far more than that...
