Default Bathurst telecast - HD?
Now with 7 being stupid and turfing their HD channel, does anyone know if there will be ANY HD broadcast of the race?

May seem silly to some, but I've gotten used to watching sporting events in HD, and even with the second AFL final I turned it off in 5 minutes because I couldn't stand the SD broadcast..

try doing a re- search for channels, surely there is still hd 9 and hd 7?! There was only a few weeks back!

Just checked the channel guide- 7 Mate, the only HD channel 7 has now, is playing Magnum PI and some other CRAP instead so no HD for Bathurst. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Ah well, no 7 HD telecast - back to the old days, SD telecast - maybe they could really go retro and telecast in black and white.

Don't really care at this point in time, as I'm telecasting onto a big screen and am happy with the quality of picture - just counting down now to race start.

Channel 9 still has HD, 90 is GEM. They showed the NRL final on it in HD.

This is utter garbage! I love watching Bathurst, but I can't tolerate it in SD :(

Thats utter crap! ALL major TV events (think sport) should be at a minimum in HD.
Its like Ford going back to using carbies???

I don't think Seven has ever aired V8s in HD (not since I've had an HD set-top box). You maybe viewing it through 7HD where the programming was upscaled to 1080i HD, but that doesn't mean it's genuine high-definition.

Before "7mate" was launced, an HD sport coverage would have a different logo on the top right-hand side of the screen. It would say "HD" in a diamond beside the number 7 logo. V8 Supercar coverage just had the standard "7 Sport" logo. Yes there is a picture improvement when watching shows that you know aren't HD ('80s reruns for example), but the picture would be much more crisper if it is truly an HD (1080i) program.

I found it very frustrating seeing how Seven aired AFL and even Tennis in HD, but poor old V8 Supercars? They stay back in time with 576i telecasts.

At least Nine will still air HD sport coverage (Rugby League and Cricket) on their HD channel.

Another reason for 10 to get the rights back

that's the 2 most watched Australian sports events telecast in SD what a crock of sh---

Default Bathurst Firday practice no HD
Well just watched a bit of practice from the Mountain no HD only got to watch Phillip Island in HD on my nice new Plasma awsome pictures and was looking forward to the 1000 in HD then seven went and did what it did with 7MATE etc what a crappy picture SD is, but what a race
