Hey guys,
I had up until recently been experiencing some issues with my ST170, specifically with the airbox actuator which has within 45k/km gone and become broken. About 9 months ago I read somewhere on here that someone had bought a wrecked 170 for parts, and that it was possibly now residing somewhere in the Gold Coast. Is that car still around or has it all been scavenged and scrapped? It would be handy to get an asking price for this part as from Ford Factory they are $697.00 :-( Regs, Todd

Yes that wrecked ST170 is still around.
Zetec_170 is using all the parts from that ST170 and I'm taking the parts hes doesnt want off the ST170 and hes Zetec as well. I'll help you out with your airbox dude.

Did it even come with the airbox because the engine was taken out

I know that engine was taken out, so I dare say it didn't come with 1.

FRA - I've PM'd zetec-170 so many times, he refuse to reply. I am after some parts that he won't need that won't fit your car or his car, can you help me out?
I'm after the surround for the gearshift, the metallic-grey bit that houses the gearshifter and the traction control button. I'm also after the wipers if possible...

Zetec_170 is hard to get a hold of these days. with work and uni and he doesn't reply back to my PM or calls.
I haven't even seen the ST yet. I'm not sure what parts he wants or doesn't want. I'm taking hes gearboxs from hes Zetec. I'll see what I can do for ya.

Hey guys, the airbox is still in the ST170 but It is firmly wedged between the firewall and that channel that the wiper driving arm sits in. I am starting work on the car this weekend hopefully that the uni semester is now over. With the aid of a crowbar I will retrieve whats left of the airbox and see if the actuator is still in tact.

Also, in case I didn't ask, I'd kill for the little wheel removal tool in the glovebox/rear wheel well if it's still available, they're almost impossible to find!

Hey zetec, Yeah I just checked my private messages and I did have your one. I will be starting to strip the car this weekend which will give me a good idea of what I will keep. My main concern with parting with items of trim is slight difference in colours between the st170 trim and the zetec trim, give me a few weeks and I will let you know. P.S you dont know how to get the gear knob of the ST170 do you, it doesent screw off like the one on my zetec

Thanks for the PM z170, if you happen to find that actuator on the weekend and you don't want it, I'd love to drive to the GC and buy it from you. Trying to find that part through wreckers is a lost cause, they are rare as hens teeth.

ill take the console piece that goes around the stereo and aircon controls.......scratched mine and ford want way to much for the ST170 colour.

Just an update, whilst the ST didn't come with the engine I still got all the gear that bolts to it ie. injection manifold, airbox, extractors, gearbox, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor..........................
