Default landau coupe vacuum system

does any one have a diagram of the vacuum system which controls the front light covers, my light covers don't open when I turn the lights on. when I manually open the covers they come up and when I switch them off they close properly.

If the covers open and close, it does not sound like a vacuum problem.

It could be electrical.

Yep, 13A161 (solenoid) will probably be hooked up wrong.

I realise this is an old thread but hoping someone can assist. I have recently picked up a 73 Landau and the headliner covers were always open. I found perished vacuum lines so I replaced them all. When I started the car the light covers went down but would not go up when the lights are turned on.

If I turn the car off, they operate as they should, up with lights on and down with lights off, until the air storage tank empties.

My basic understanding of how the system work is : with the engine running, the vacuum from the engine keep the covers closed, when you turn the lights on the solenoid shuts of the vacuum from the engine and raises the covers (basically). So my guess is that the solenoid may be failing.

Note, I had replaced 1 vacuum hose at a time ensuring that they went back exactly as I had taken them off so as not to incorrectly reconnect.
Also, my solenoid has 3 outlets where as the one below seems to have 2.

If it is the solenoid, any idea where I can get my hands on one.

Thanks

Hi

My 73 Landau has what appears to be the same arrangement and is working ok.

But, there is an additional unit the has another small connection for smaller pipes - internal controls for heat maybe? And the 13a161 solenoid has an additional vacuum hose on the bottom - which is disconnected ATM.

Any ideas or suggestions??

Thank you
