But we don't. We live in a world where we constantly do cost benefit analysis and risk analysis. Everything is about trading off the risk of encountering a virus with a 99.99x% survival rate (if infected) for the benefits of being able to go to work, have a job and income, seeing your friends and family.
and the leaders of the country have decided the risk from this virus justifies shutdown, social isolation and ultimately the economy for the sake of peoples' lives. why is it that you think they made the wrong choice? why is it that you don't think this virus is different given the government has never done that for the regular seasonal flus? doesn't that say to you that this virus is more dangerous than the flu? and i'll ask again because you seem to be ignoring it - do you prefer the approach that the united states has taken?
