You need to retain the vss from the transmission in order for it to change gears correctly if you are using the factory TCU. So you cannot just disconnect it unless you plan to fit manual shift kit
You can get a unit to convert the electronic signal from the vss to a motor drive for the XA from speedhut or places like that.
