Are the ASPI, other think tanks, and all the media the Australia government?
No they are not, but they are free to offer up whatever opinion they like to. You know in a democracy.
But the Chinese get butt hurt over it all because they either don't know or think it represents the official Australian position.
If the statement doesn't come from the PM or FM it doesn't mean anything.
