175/50R13 will be the tyre size for a Mini - way too small for an Escort (most states limit change in tyre diameter to 15mm). If you are getting new wheels, 15" and 195/50 could be an option as there is a good range of tyres in that size too - I'm not sure if there is a 14" in the same boat.
